Radu Protopopescu, Managing Partner
Radu PROTOPOPESCU is the managing partner of the firm and also leads the corporate and finance department. His expertise encompasses most of the firm’s major areas of practice, with the aim of ensuring that level of quality of service which stands for the distinctive SPV mark on the legal market.
In addition to coordinating significant M&A and other major projects, Radu supervises the multidisciplinary day-to-day legal assistance provided by the firm to a number of its constant clients. He is assisting clients’ representatives during negotiations and, on particular occasions, he pleads in certain court cases, especially in front of the High Court of Cassation and Justice.
Although primarily focused on business law typical areas, Radu has also a particular interest and he has developed an extensive expertise in restitution of property abusively taken over by the state, including both private property of individuals and common property belonging to national minorities and religious cults.
Radu has undertaken a number of pro-bono missions, notably assisting the “Ronald S. Lauder Romania” Foundation in developing ambitious educational projects, dedicated to children and youth. Radu is also looking forward to extending the firm’s efforts in supporting preservation of biodiversity and healthy living.
Radu PROTOPOPESCU coordinates the legal training program of the trainees in the M&A and Real Estate areas.
Radu graduated from the Law School of Bucharest University, where he received his law degree. He started his career with the firm soon after graduating in 1998 and he has stayed with the firm ever since.
Radu PROTOPOPESCU has the right to plead in front of all Romanian courts of law, including the High Court of Cassation and Justice and the Constitutional Court.
